WILTON – Marcella Hope (Dyke) Farrington passed away peacefully, August 2, 2024, following a brief period of declining health.
She was born August 6, 1933, in Fayette, Maine, to Herbert and Eva (Keene) Dyke.
She attended schools in Fayette and graduated from Jay High School in 1952. On August 16, 1953, she married Lawrence C. Farrington, Jr, and they enjoyed 64 years together before his passing in January 2018.
Marcella enjoyed all her various employment opportunities including bank teller, shoe factory worker, dietary services, and CNA, but she was happiest in her kitchen cooking, and making pies and cookies. She loved having everyone stop by to share stories and enjoy her baked goodies with a cup of coffee or tea. Her wonderful sense of humor will be missed, as well as her love for all animals, especially cats and dogs, having cared for many over her 90-plus years!
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sisters, Louise Fuller (Maurice) and Priscilla Quirion (Phil); in-laws, Lawrence Sr. and Cora, and Milton (Jackie/ Mary) and Ida and Norman Hall.
She is survived by her son, Kimball (Cindy), daughter, Wendy (Suzie); sisters, Ellen Coolidge (Russell) and Christine Flynn; grandchildren, Adam Blackman (Jennifer), Sarah King (Travis), Kassidi, and Kevin (Kayleen); great-grandchildren, Caroline, Claire, Kali; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to her inhome hospice caretakers, as well as her daughter-in-law Cindy, and Kris and Jasmine.
Interment will be private at Lakeview Cemetery, Wilton.
Arrangements are under the care of Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service, 488 Farmington Falls Road, Farmington Maine, where memories, photos and condolences may be shared at dsfuneral.com Those who wish to remember Marcella may donate to an animal shelter or charity of your choice
