WATERFORD —There will be a public supper at the North Waterford Congregational Church on Tuesday, Aug. 20, from 5-6:30 p.m. The menu includes baked beans, American chop suey, coleslaw, salads, casseroles, brown bread, rolls, beverages, and homemade pies. The cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children under 12. The church is located on Route 35, just off Route 118, 10 Irving Green Rd. Call Milly Millett with questions at 207-583-2822.
WEST PARIS — There will be a Chicken Pie supper to benefit the American Legion and Auxiliary Program at 6 Church Street in West Paris on Saturday, Aug. 17 from 4:30-6 p.m. This will be an eat-in or take-out dinner by donation – $12/per person. To reserve a meal, please call 207-381-0504.
SUMNER — On August 24, there will be a Beanhole Bean supper at the Congregational Church of East Sumner at 5:30 p.m. $9 per person/$5 youth 5-15. Children under 5 free/$23 Max. family price. There will be raffles, indoor and outdoor dining. Take-out available after 6 p.m. Proceeds will benefit the outreach of the church. CASCO — The Casco Village Church, United Church of Christ is hosting our “Summer BBQ Picnic Supper” on Saturday, August 24 from 4:30-6 p.m. This month’s dinner will feature chicken, pork, burgers, hot dogs, salads, beans, watermelon, & homemade blueberry desserts! It’s all only $12 for adults, and $5 for children 8 and under. Please come join us! The church is located at 941 Meadow Rd. in Casco and may be contacted at 207-627-4282.
OTISFIELD — There will be a Community Cook-out on Wednesday, Aug 21, 5-6:30 at the Community Hall. Once a year, the Social Outreach Committee pivots from the monthly Community Lunch to a Community Cook-Out. August is the month, Wednesday August 21 is the day and it’s 5-6:30 p.m. to accommodate working families.
On the menu is barbequed chicken, hot dogs, potato salad, assorted summer salads, chips, cookies, watermelon, lemonade and iced tea. It is a free meal. Donations are appreciated and keep it self-supporting. Invite your neighbors and come on down to the Community Hall for a good meal and good company. This event is made possible by a cadre of dedicated volunteers to whom we say Thank you! Hope to see you there!

PARIS — A large indoor/outdoor rummage and yard sale will be held from 9 to noon on Saturday, August 17 at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St. in Paris. A bag sale will follow from 12:30-1:30. Adult and children’s clothes, books, toys, furniture, kitchenware, holiday decor, household items, tools, and much more will be available at very reasonable prices.
NORWAY — The Friends of Norway Memorial Library $2-bag sale originally scheduled for Saturday, August 10 is postponed to Saturday, August 17, 9 a.m. to 12 noon. This sale is held outside the Gingerbread House at 500 Main Street in Norway. The postponement is due to a forecast for rain on August 10.
Books for all ages and interests are sold to raise funds for the Friends of Norway Memorial Library, who support library programs and services.
This is the final sale of the summer. Bags are provided and shoppers are encouraged to stock up on reading material at bargain prices. Donations of books are no longer being received. For more information call Norway Memorial Library at 207-743-5309.
