100 Years Ago: 1924
Auburn police notified the Portland police Friday to be on the lookout for Charles Canbage, 15 years old, and Clarence Grant, nine years old, who ran away from the Mrs. Myron H. Watson field’s Corner, Auburn, morning. The lads said they were going to pick blueberries but they had not been heard from since. Chief Rowe learned Friday morning that the boys were headed for Portland. Searching parties were still looking for them.
50 Years Ago: 1974
Graduates From AF Special School Air National Guard Airman Carolyn M. Ferrence, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph R. Ferrence of 221 Free St., Lisbon Falls, graduated recently from the U.S. Air Force administrative specialist course conducted by the Air Training Command at Keesler AFB, Miss.

Central Maine Friends of Photography has works on display at the Central Maine Medical Center Women’s Hospital Association Rotating Art Gallery from Aug. 6 to Sept. 2.
Friends is a group of photographers who gather informally bi-monthly to pursue photographic interests in the spirit of a common enjoyment of photography. The goal is to provide an opportunity for photographers to interact in a forum that will enhance personal growth, vision, mastery of technique and dialogue.
The exhibit includes images by Dr. Thomas Bosma, Alice DiPaolo, Bruce Wiley, Bob Darby, John Darby, Cynthia Curtis, Larry Curtis, Beth Gagnon and Harold Strout.
