Vivian C. Chicoine

LIVERMORE – Vivian C. Chicoine, 88, of Livermore, passed away peacefully, Saturday, August 17, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 5, 1936, in Jay, to the late Armand and Alberta (Bibeau) Grondin. Vivian was a 1954 graduate of Livermore Falls High School and attended Beal Business School in Lewiston. On July 20, 1957, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married her husband of 61 years, Louis R. Chicoine. Together they raised six children and spent many happy summers at their camp on Round Pond in Livermore, which later became their permanent home when they built their log cabin on the pond. She enjoyed years of traveling with her husband and their group of friends. She never won big at the Casino, but she loved going anyway. Vivian devoted her time to her family, home and community, she was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and volunteered at the local food pantry. Knitting was her favorite pastime, and she donated many, many pairs of mittens and slippers to children in need. She is survived by her son Roger Chicoine of Livermore, her daughters; Brenda Duguay and her husband Mike of Rumford, Cindy Decker and her husband Derick of Rumford, Doreen Rumery and her husband Turner of Dayton, Eileen Castonguay of Livermore and Ann Raney and her husband Joe of Michigan, her 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, and one on the way, who brought her endless joy, her sister, Irene Bryant, and her brother, Francis Grondin and wife Sue, sisters-in-law, Arlene Landry and husband Al, and Frances Chicoine, and brother-in-law, Richard McKenna, many nieces and nephews, and her loving dog Robbie. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, sisters-in-laws, Rita Burke, Christine Harlow, Doris Wilson and Theresa McKenna, brothers-in-law, Clarence and Armand Chicoine, Laurence Bryant, and beloved dog “Strike”. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, September 6, at St. Rose of Lima Church, 1 Church Street, Jay, Maine. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
