Irene G. Plante
BERLIN, N.H. – Irene G. Plante, 84, of Berlin, N.H. and formerly of Lewiston, passed away on July 31, 2024 at St. Vincent de Paul Rehab and Nursing Center.
She was born in Lewiston on Jan. 18, 1940, the daughter of Leo and Therese S. (Sylvestre) Gagnon and attended Lewiston Schools.
She was employed as a beautician where she crossed paths with her husband, Richard. They were married in 1960 and due to husband’s profession, they had the privilege of living in several New England communities.
After the death of Richard in 2004, she returned to Lewiston where she resided for several years before moving to Berlin, N.H. Irene loved to knit, play cards and enjoyed her glass of wine. Irene’s infectious smile will be remembered by many.
Family includes her children Daniel Plante of Pittsfield, David Plante of Berlin, N.H., Diane Gerow of Rome, and Darren Plante of Lewiston; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; siblings; nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by Richard; sisters Claire and Dorothy and her companions, Don and Dixie.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Bryant Funeral Home in Berlin, N.H. is in charge of the arrangements.
