Constance D. (Gladu) Traynor
LEWISTON – Constance D. (Gladu) Traynor, 88, of Lewiston passed peacefully on Friday, Aug. 23, 2024.
She was born in Lewiston on Aug. 8, 1936, the daughter of the late Ronald “Tim” and Loretta (Laberge) Gladu. She grew up in the Lewiston area along with spending summers at the family farm in Sabattus. She was a graduate of Lewiston High School.
On Dec. 1, 1956, she married Leyon E. “Sonny” Traynor, and they started a family together. She was currently a member of Holy Family Church. Constance was a homemaker and worked at various jewelry stores in the Lewiston/Auburn area, most recently at Republic Jewelry. She was a devout Catholic teaching CCD and later served as a eucharistic minister. She was a long time member of the Ladies of St. Anne Sodality.
Constance is survived by her loving husband, Leyon E. Traynor; and her four children, Timothy (Doreen) Traynor of Harpswell, Christopher (Kathleen) Traynor of Baltimore, Md., Constance (David) Sirois of Lewiston, and Ryan Traynor of Pensacola, Fla. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Erica (Chad) Ouellette, Alison Traynor, Jade (Zachary) Mumau, Haleigh Traynor and partner Andrew Millar, Seth Traynor, Liza (Hans) Breton, Colby Traynor, Kirsten Traynor, Kayleigh Traynor, Christian Traynor and fiancé Kayla Copenhaver, Reagan Traynor, and Braden Traynor; and great-grandchildren, Jameson and Ruby Mumau, Taven Ouellette, Iris and Chase Breton; along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Katie L. Traynor; her brother, Robert Gladu, and her sister, Jeanne Flynn.
Constance enjoyed antiquing with her dear friends, Roger and Jackie Bellegarde and Earl and Barbara Webb. She was an outstanding cook and kept up the tradition of making a delicious family dinner each and every Sunday over the years. Her deepest joy came from spending time with her family and made several out-of-state trips to visit family whenever she could. She will be missed dearly by all who had the honor of knowing her.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the staff of Marshwood Center and Andwell Hospice Care for the compassion they showed Constance.
Funeral services honoring Constance’s life will be celebrated on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at 1 p.m., at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home. Committal services will then follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., prior to the service at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston, 784-4023.
