Patrick Timothy McInerney

LIVERMORE FALLS – Patrick Timothy McInerney, 78, of Livermore Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Aug. 15, 2024.

He was born on Nov. 28, 1945, in Chicago, Ill. to Irish immigrants William and Margaret (Hough) McInerney. Patrick was a devoted father and grandfather, a decorated Marine veteran, and a friend to many.

Patrick joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1967 and served his country in the Vietnam War before being discharged in 1973. His honorable service was recognized with a Purple Heart, the Vietnamese Service Award, the Vietnamese Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Patrick’s time in the Marines instilled a life-long commitment-to-serve as he found tremendous fulfillment in the brotherhood and fellowship offered by other veterans.

After his discharge, Patrick attended Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. He moved to Maine to start his family and began working as a plumber and electrician. He worked until his retirement as a pipefitter for Bath Iron Works, building ships for the U.S. Navy.

In retirement, Patrick stayed busy with elaborate projects to beautify his home and garden. He cherished family dinners with his daughters and grandkids. Patrick loved animals and rescued many over the years, especially the “hard to adopt” ones.

He was an avid baseball fan and traveled around the country visiting all the major league baseball stadiums. Still, nothing compared to watching his beloved Red Sox play at Fenway Park.

Patrick is survived by his sisters Therese McInerney and Kathleen (McInerney) Coffey, his brother, John McInerney and their families; and his daughters Anna McInerney and Katherine (McInerney) Mulkern and her husband Gregory. He also leaves behind two beloved grandchildren, Adella Rose and Jackson Patrick Mulkern.

Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret (Hough) McInerney; and sister, Mary McInerney.

Patrick will be remembered for his selflessness, his service to his country, his fellowship, and his dedication to his girls. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Messages of condolence may be sent to: http://www.finleyfuneralhome.com

A graveside service with full military honors will be held 9 a.m., Friday, Sept. 13 at Maine Veterans Cemetery, 163 Mount Vernon Rd., Augusta. Arrangements by Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls, ME 04254.
