Pauline Breton Penley

AUBURN – Pauline Breton Penley, 93, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Sept. 13, 2024, after a long and full life. She was born in 1931 to Willie and Blanche (Carpentier) Breton and was proud to have called Auburn her home for her entire life.

She was a member of the Sacred Heart Senior Citizens Group, Edward Little Class of ’50 (for which she served as reunion secretary), and United Commercial Travelers and worked for 21 years for the Auburn school department in the cafeteria.

She will be remembered with love and affection as the consummate mother and grandmother whose devotion to her family was matched only by her dedication to her Catholic faith.

She is survived by her sister, Irene Bureau (Normand); children William (Patricia), Wayne (Linda), Mary, Katherine Adams (Mark), and Patrick, daughter-in law Candis; 12 grandchildren and their spouses; and ten great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Charles (Bud), and their son Robert.

She was well known for her cooking, her enjoyment of Boston sports teams, and her love of a good bargain. Her cretons and meat pies will be sorely missed at family gatherings, but her loving and generous spirit will live on in her descendants.

Visitation for Pauline will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Fortin Group Funeral Home in Auburn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Auburn, followed by Committal Prayers at Mt. Auburn Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the care of The Fortin Group Funeral Home | 217 Turner Street Auburn, ME 04210 (207) 783-8545.
