Brian W. Sessions
NORWAY – Brian W. Sessions, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, at his home. Born on Dec. 13, 1961, in Lewiston, Brian was the beloved son of Warren and Nada (Hinkley) Sessions.
Brian’s life was a rich tapestry of professional success, community service, and personal passions. As a truck driver specializing in hauling mobile homes, he founded Brian’s Mobile Home Transport and later established Sessions Sales and Leasing, helping countless families find their homes. His ventures into real estate included developing Grover Hill and Salinitas Estates.
He started his real estate career with his sister, Bonita, working with her at Apple Tree Realty and later as a Owner/Designated Broker for River Valley Realty in Bethel.
Brian was a devoted community member, he served for many years on the Norway Planning Board with diligence and dedication. His commitment extended to volunteering for 18 years as a firefighter with the Norway Maine Fire Department on Tanker Truck 214 and contributing many years to the Oxford Fair, where he helped to manage the Pan Game to raise funds for the department.
An avid sportsman, Brian loved trapping with his brother Brett in his youth, hunting deer and moose, and fishing. His passion for the outdoors was evident in his adventurous spirit. After surviving a “widowmaker” heart attack, Brian defied expectations by traveling to Alaska with his daughter, Lisa, showcasing his zest for life and love for exploration.
Brian’s adventurous spirit and love for the open road and freedom of travel deeply inspired his children and grandchildren to explore the world themselves. His philosophy, shaped by his close brushes with death, was that life is short and a positive attitude is essential for navigating life challenges. He believed in focusing on what truly matters, not worrying about the little things, and living your dreams with the understanding that life doesn’t come with an expiration date.
Brian was incredibly proud of his daughters. He admired the fighting spirit of his daughter Hada, who courageously battles pulmonary hypertension, a rare disease with no known cure. Brian supported Hada in every way, including helping her establish her first home on Salinitas Dr.
When Hada moved to Alabama, despite his own mobility and health issues, Brian was the first to volunteer to drive the enormous U-Haul, demonstrating his unwavering dedication and love.
He was also immensely proud of his daughter Lisa’s military career. As a combat veteran and Battalion Commander in the Maine Army National Guard, Lisa accomplishments were a source of great pride for Brian, who admired her dedication and leadership.
In his later years, Brian devoted much of his time and energy to supporting his daughter Victoria’s gymnastics career. He was immensely proud of her achievements, including her five state championships, and was determined that she would reach the Olympics. His unwavering support and belief in her dreams were a testament to his deep love and dedication as a father.
Brian is predeceased by his father, Warren Sessions Sr., and his brother, Warren Sessions Jr. He leaves behind his loving children: Hada Monahan and her husband Tito, Lisa Sessions and her companion Richard Miller, and Victoria Sessions. He is also survived by his grandchildren Isabella and Delfin Monahan, and his great-granddaughter Emberly Gifford. Brian will be dearly remembered by his mother, Nada Sessions; his sisters Bonita Rienzo and her husband Victor, and Cheryl Sessions and her husband Rick; and his brothers Brett Sessions and his wife Susan, and Greg Sessions. He is also survived by the mothers of his children, Marina and Gracia Sessions, along with several nieces and nephews, and his loyal traveling companion, Snoopy, his Aussie Shepherd.
A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, from 1 – 3 p.m. at the South Paris Fire Department, 137 Western Ave., South Paris.
