LEWISTON – Joseph H. Timberlake, 82, a resident of Canton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, surrounded by his loving family, following a brief illness. He was born Aug. 16, 1942, in Livermore, the son of David J. Timberlake and Eleanor L. (Gammon) Timberlake. He was a graduate of Canton High School. Following high school, he proudly served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. On Oct. 6, 1962, in Livermore, he married Karen S. Ayer of Canton. He worked as a self-employed woodsman and antique dealer. He enjoyed hunting, cribbage, woodburning and other various hobbies. He is survived by his wife, Karen Timberlake of Canton, his son, Michael Timberlake and wife Michelle of Canton, his daughter, Katherine Walker and husband Robert of Canton, grandchildren, Ashley Guild and husband Brody and Grace Cookson and husband Justin, great-granddaughter, Eleanor May Cookson, and his sister, Isabelle Touchette and companion Robert Whitney of Albion. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Canton Town Office Meeting Room, 94 Turner Street, Canton. Arrangements by FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls.
