Cheryl Goddard
NORWAY – Cheryl Goddard, 86, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024.
Cheryl (Bickford) was born June 22, 1938 to Robert and Cynthia Bickford. She was a lifelong resident of Lisbon Falls and dedicated her life to raising four children, while helping her husband run three businesses-construction, rental properties, and managing a mobile home park.
She is survived by her loving children, Norman Goddard, Mark Goddard (Christine Tetreault), and Cindy Goddard; as well as five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, and her brothers Steven and Roger Bickford.
She was predeceased by husband, Conrad Goddard; son, Greg Goddard; granddaughter, Tera Goddard; and brothers Bruce, Richard, and Clifford Bickford.
Cheryl graduated from Lisbon High School in 1956. After having four children, she pursued her lifelong dream of becoming an elementary teacher, receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1973.
She enjoyed gardening, swimming in her pool with grandchildren, and was known for riding the waves at Reid State Park. In later years, she was usually game for any adventure, always accompanied by her pocketbook and lipstick. Her adventures included long car rides, cheering on her daughter’s teams, and watching her grandchildren grow. Even in her 80s, Cheryl still kept things tidy at home.
She was a sweet woman with a kind, gentle approach, and a huge smile. In her final years, Cheryl was blessed with two loving and dedicated friends/caregivers Kim Ayotte and Krista Daniels. Though she will be deeply missed, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace.
Funeral services honoring Cheryl’s life will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 6 p.m. at Crosman Funeral Home. A reception to follow service at Slovak Club at 26 Avery St. in Lisbon Falls. Committal services will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, at 2 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery in Lisbon Falls. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 26, from 3 to 6 p.m. prior to the service at Crosman Funeral Home, 40 Main St. in Lisbon Falls 353-4951.
