Raymond M. Hamann
LEWISTON – Raymond M. Hamann, 85, formerly of Montello Heights, Lewiston, passed away on the morning of Sept. 22, 2024, with his family at his side at Montello Manor. He was born in Lewiston on Jan. 24, 1939, to Lucien and Yvonne Mathieu Hamann. He was educated in Lewiston schools.
He married the love of his life, Lorraine Poulin, on July 23, 1971, at Holy Family Church. He worked as a candy maker for Lou-Rod Candy for 40 years. He was a devoted catholic and attended Holy Family Church. Raymond enjoyed the family summer home in South Harpswell, traveling, and to the Coast of Maine.
Raymond is survived by his sisters, Yolande Dumont of Auburn; Odette (Hamann) and husband Clarence Tardif of Largo, Fla., brother, Marcel Hamann and wife Stephanie of Lexington, Ky., sister-in-law Muriel Hamann of Lewiston; aunts, Carmen Charest, Rita LePage, Claudette Charest and Jacqueline Charest; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Laurier Hamann, a brother-in-law, Julien Dumont, a sister-in-law, Suzanne Poulin; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday Sept. 30, 2024, from 9 – 10 a.m. followed by a Liturgy of the Word service at 10 a.m. also at the funeral home. Committal prayers and burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston following the service.
