Francoise “Fran” Poliquin

AUBURN – Francoise “Fran” Poliquin, 87, went to the Lord on Sept. 27, 2024, due to a brief illness. She was born on Feb. 27, 1937, a daughter to Albert and Eva (Ouellette) Dumais.

Fran graduated from Lewiston High School and retired from St. Mary’s Hospital as a secretary in the OBGYN office with Dr. Cabelin.

She married Normand Poliquin on August 27, 1955. They enjoyed many years together until his passing in 2004.

She enjoyed playing cards, Bingo and enjoyed seeing her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Fran is survived by her six children, Suzanne Blais (Roland) of Virginia, Daniel Poliquin of Minot, Pauline Dube (Gilbert) of Minot, Jackie Mathon (Mike) of Auburn, Nancy Gatchell (Todd) of Poland, Mona Mathon (Jim) of Lewiston; as well as her two sisters, Irene Berube and Monique Gravel. She also leaves behind her 17 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband Normand; and two brothers Marcel and Lionel.

Visitation for Fran will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Fortin & Pinette Group located at 217 Turner Street Auburn, Maine 04210. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston, with Committal Prayers to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
