LIVERMORE FALLS – Dolores R. Miller, 83, of Livermore Falls, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Oct. 5, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side.
She was born on Sept. 16, 1941, in Rumford, the daughter of Ivan J. Richard and Diana (Chabot) Richard. She was a 1959 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. On May 21, 1961, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married Robert W. Miller of Livermore Falls. Dolores worked as a branch manager at Livermore Falls Trust for many years before her retirement.
Growing up, Dolores “Grammy Dee” enjoyed riding around in her car with her friends. Her favorite saying was “let’s go for a ride.” She enjoyed her daily walks and regular bike rides in Florida. Dolores and her husband spent 12 winters enjoying their home in Florida with extended family.
Grammy Dee was always holding the newest baby in the family and attended all the grandchildren’s events. She always had money to secretly hand out to the kids along with candy and treats galore at camp. Her famous thin pancakes were the best part of our mornings at Roxbury Pond.
Dolores was especially loved for her positive spirit and her kind ways. Everyone who knew her immediately could feel how special she truly was. She never had an unkind word to say. She knew how to make everyone laugh with her shocking offbeat comments and her card playing antics. She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Miller of Livermore Falls; her daughter, Laureen Olsen and husband Robert of Carrabassett Valley, daughter-in-law, Mary Miller of Yarmouth; seven grandchildren, Elizabeth Blake, Joshua Olsen, Allison Frechette, Zackery Frechette, Caitlin Murphy, Kelsey Frechette and Kayla Jewett; 11 great-grandchildren, Brandon, Lili, Ella, Eli, Reegan, Levi, Max, Cora, Gemma, Clayton and Evie; her nieces and nephews; and her cousin, who was like her sister, Diane Crutchfield of Massachusetts.
She was predeceased by her parents; son, Robert “Sparky” W. Miller, Jr.; her brother, Fred Richard and special sister-in-law, Kathy Richard.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19 at Finley Funeral Home, 15 Church St., Livermore Falls. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service. A private interment at Lakeview Cemetery, Route 2, in Wilton, will be held at a later date.
