NORWAY — Norway-based nonprofit Center for an Ecology-Based Economy is set to host a nonpartisan forum for constituents at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, at Norway Public Library, 258 Main St.

Constituents can connect with all regional candidates, ask questions, and hear candidates go on record regarding their views on climate change, Maine’s Climate Action Plan, and the impacts of a changing climate on the region: increased precipitation, flooding, and drought; more intense heat waves; water quality impacts for lakes and rivers; and decreased winter recreation opportunities, according to a news release from Renee Igo with the Center for an Ecology-Based Economy.

All invited candidates are running for Maine House Districts 79, 80, 81, and 82; Maine Senate Districts 18 and 19; and U.S. House District 2 and U.S. Senate. The forum will be moderated by the Rev. Doretta Colburn. Each candidate will answer a set of questions, followed by time for constituents to ask questions related to climate change, closing with informal time to mingle with candidates afterwards.
