PARIS — The town plans to hold a public hearing and special town meeting at 6 p.m. Oct. 28 to “hear questions and comments regarding the selling and disposing of any property, both real and personal,” according to its website.
The special town meeting is intended to authorize the Select Board to sell or dispose of any piece of any property the town owns, even if it was not acquired by tax foreclosure.
Town Manager Natalie Andrews explained that at the annual town meeting, a warrant article was approved which allows the Select Board to sell and dispose of property, but only if it was acquired by foreclosure.
If approved, the new article will allow the board to move forward with the sale of two pieces of land that were put out to bid earlier this year.
Andrews confirmed that a public hearing will also be held before the board sells a piece of land.
