Friends, family and coworkers of Carole Cross have raised funds for a memorial cement bench, to be dedicated in cooperation with the Abused Women’s Advocacy Project at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30. The bench is located at the small park where her vigil was held, at Pine and Webster streets.

Members of her family, friends and coworkers are expected to attend and share memories of Cross. All are invited to share memories of her and to share a commitment to ending violence against women and children in their homes.

The dedication will also mark the end of Domestic Violence Awareness Month for this year.

The material used in Looking Back is produced exactly as it originally appeared although misspellings and errors may be corrected.
