FARMINGTON — The 2024 Indoor Spooktacular, hosted on Oct. 26 at the Farmington Community Center treated local families to a festive Halloween event showcasing decorated displays, themed tents, and a range of activities. This year’s event emphasized community resources and featured local businesses, organizations, and school teams. The 2024 Indoor Spooktacular winners were determined by the attendees voting for their favorite decorated display. The winners are: Mt. Blue High School Robotics Team, taking first place, Allied Physical Therapy in second, and Mt. Blue High School Girl’s Soccer in third.

Lucy Knowles of the Mt. Blue Robotics Team expressed her excitement. “The Halloween Spooktacular was an amazing outreach event for the Blue Crew Robotics team,” she said in an email after the event. “We were able to use previous Star Wars costumes to set up our section, and it was so much fun to participate in. Throughout the night, some of the kids were scared of the Jawa costumes, but after we took the masks off, many of them were brave enough to step up to get candy, and in the end, we won the award for best setup as voted by the public. Although this event was different from those we typically participate in, it was very successful and fun for everybody.”

Held inside the Farmington Community Center, the event featured a holiday-themed area by Mrs. Claus, basketball games, a spooky tent filled with purple and orange balloons with candles, and a “campfire” scene where witches handed out candy.

The Mt. Blue Robotics Team, dressed in Star Wars costumes, showcased an R2D2 model, delighting attendees.

Additionally, the event offered classic games like tic-tac-toe and ring toss, a Minions-themed tent, and a friendly greeter sharing vegan options for trick-or-treaters.
