BETHEL — This week, Rotarians were treated to a fantastic presentation on the University of Maine 4H Camp & Learning Center at Bryant Pond by its Executive Director, Ryder Scott, and its Summer Camp Director, Reid Johnson.
For more than 50 years, the University of Maine 4-H Camp & Learning Center at Bryant Pond (formerly the Maine Conservation School) has strengthened children’s relationship with the natural world with a combination of inspired outdoor fun, practical woods-wise skills, and “hands-on” conservation education.
Helping young people learn to take care of our natural world and themselves, when they are in it, is its most important goal.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
