Steven P. Chabot

CHARLESTON – Steven P. Chabot, 64, of Livermore Falls passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2024, at his son’s home in Charleston, following a brief illness. He was born on Dec. 7, 1959, in Farmington, the son of Louis and Louise (Filteau) Chabot. He was a 1978 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. Following high school, Steve proudly served in the U.S. Navy for six years as a cryptologic technician. He later continued his education receiving his master electrician license at Central Maine Community College in Auburn. On Nov. 9, 1991, at the First Baptist Church of Livermore Falls, he married Tara Cummings. He worked as a service technician at Jaycor in Maryland, as an electrician for Redi Electric, International Paper Company at the Androscoggin Mill and Verso Mill in Jay, and Gates Formed Fiber in Auburn. He was a member of Oriental Star Masonic Lodge #21, Hillside Sports Club in Jay, Jay-Livermore Falls Hunting Club and a life member of Amvets Post 33 in Jay and VFW Post 3335 Auxiliary in Jay. He enjoyed working on Jeeps and collecting Jeep memorabilia, ice fishing, hunting, playing cribbage, lawn sales and antiquing. He is survived by his father Louis Chabot of Auburn, Washington, his wife of 33 years, Tara Chabot of South Portland, sons, Sam Chabot and wife Natalie of Charleston, and Jake Chabot of Portland, granddaughter, Jane Louise Chabot of Charleston, sisters, Karen Williamson and her husband Andrew, and Laurie Johnston, all of Renton, Washington, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, November 21, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, November 20th at the funeral home. Members of the Oriental Star Lodge #21 will meet at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m., for a Masonic service. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
