Bernard “Junior” Belskis Jr.
MEXICO – Bernard “Junior” Belskis Jr., 81, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. He lived on Porter Bridge Road in Mexico.
Bernard was born in Rumford, on Oct. 24, 1943, the son of Bernard (Sr.) and Mary (Cornelio) Belskis. A graduate of Stephens High School, he worked as a Millwright for Mead Paper until retirement. He owned and operated Belskis’ Body Shop in Mexico.
A member of the Eagles Club in Rumford, he enjoyed scratch tickets, going to the casino, and gold panning.
Survivors include his sons, Scott and wife Lynn of Dixfield, Joseph of Rumford, grandchildren, Kristin Prosper and Husband Steven, Nicole Belskis, Adrianna Belskis, and Alyssa Belskis, great-grandchildren Aiden Belskis, Cassia Ricker and Madelyn Prosper, a sister Jean Philbrick of Dixfield, his partner of over 47 years, Avis Richard, and her children Bill, Sonia (Richard-Lecours), and Victor Richard, and his dog, Tinker.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2024, at the Meader & Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin Street, Rumford. Interment will be in St John Cemetery in Rumford. Celebration of Life will be at the Eagles Club on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2024, from 1-5 p.m.
