Ginette C. Vaillancourt

LEWISTON – Ginette C. Vaillancourt, 77, of Lewiston passed away peacefully at her home in Greene on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She survived a courageous battle with cancer that required a number of surgeries that ended up being too severe for her body and eventually took her life.

She was born July 31, 1947, at March AFB in Riverside, California the daughter of J.B.A. (Armand) Giguere and Blanche (Filion).

Ginette lived the first 21 years of her life as the daughter of a military family, and lived in many interesting places, including Panama, Libya and Japan, as well as several states. This led to her lifelong curiosity of the world and her love of travel.

On June 10, 1972, she married Donald Vaillancourt and they spent 52 happy years together.

She was fortunate to be able to be a stay-at-home mom, a career she loved. She enjoyed being a homemaker and mother, and her family was everything to her. Her favorite activity was traveling, and she enjoyed many trips, cruises, and RV road trips with her husband Donald.

She also enjoyed going to the family camp, sitting by the water and taking sunset boat rides.

She is survived by her husband, Donald of Lewiston; daughter Aimee and husband John, and granddaughter Aura, of Vermont; son Jamie and wife Stacey of Greene; and son Brady and wife Erica, and grandchildren Lola and Cruz, of Turner. Ginette was predeceased by her parents, and a brother-in-law, Norman.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to Andwell Health Partners Hospice Care during these last weeks of her life.

A Liturgy of the Word for Ginette will be held on Monday Nov. 25, 2024, at 10 a.m., in the Large Mausoleum of St. Peter’s Cemetery in Lewiston.

Arrangements are under the care of Albert & Burpee Funeral Home & Cremation Services 253 Pine St. Lewiston, 782-7201.
