AUBURN — A Lewiston teen was killed in a crash early Monday morning on Route 4, police said in an afternoon news release.
The unnamed 17-year-old boy was traveling northbound in a 2019 Subaru Impreza just after 7 a.m. when the car veered off the road in the area of 3048 Turner Road and landed down a 50-foot embankment. He was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
As of the 12:30 p.m., a crash reconstruction was underway. However, police said they believe speed and distraction were likely contributing factors.
No further details were available, and the teen’s identity was not being released, police said.
