Anne Paulette Tetreault
LEWISTON – Anne Paulette Tetreault passed away in the early hours of the morning on Nov. 29, 2024 after a long illness.
The daughter of Leopold and Yvette Begin and sister to Larry, Claire, Carmen and Conrad, Anne has lived in Lewiston her entire life, attending local schools Holy Cross Elementary and Lewiston High, and furthering her education at Lewiston High Business School and the University of Maine.
In 1965, she married the love of her life, Jack Tetreault, with whom she shared 59 years of marriage, raising their five children, John, Marc, Jane, Sally and Charles and being grandparents to Travis, Tyson and Madeleine.
Anne was not one to keep idle, and she worked in various vocations over the years from hospitality to office work. For the last 18 years of her life, she worked at the Bates College Dining Service and retired because of illness.
Anne had many gifts but she particularly had a passion for growing and cultivating plants. She could keep indoor edibles thriving in the cold winter months and created a paradise of day lilies around her home during summer. Her curiosity with day lilies had no bounds and she would often be experimenting with hybridizing plants, collecting seeds and conversing with other day lily enthusiasts around the U.S.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; and her children John, Marc, Sally and Charles; her grandchildren; her sister, Claire and her brother, Conrad; and several nieces and nephews.
The Tetreault family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Marshwood and Andwell for taking very good care of her in her last days.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church in Lewiston on Friday, Dec. 20.
Arrangements are under the care of the Fortin and Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, ME 04240.
