Ready to play “Alias Santa Claus?” to some Lewiston and Auburn youngsters.
The first list of children, who through the Salvation Army have made their wishes for Christmas, is published today in the Lewiston Journal. The names will be identified by a number and a first name but addresses of the youngsters will not be published in the newspaper. If you want to play Santa to any one of these, let either the Lewiston Journal or the Salvation Army headquarters know.
The Christmas wish of many a little lad and lass is not for a toy but for something warm to wear.
50 Years Ago: 1974
Mrs. Eleanor Leadbetter was presented with a purse of money at a reception honoring her retirement after 40 years of service in the ministry of music of the Auburn United Methodist Church.
25 Years Ago: 1999
A group of Livermore Falls Middle School students will go caroling through the streets of Livermore Falls on Tuesday, Dec. 14.The carolers will make their way back to the school for cookies and hot chocolate. The Livermore Falls Middle School Student Council is organizing the event.
