Phyllis A. Quinn
DIXFIELD – Phyllis A. Quinn, 94, died Monday Dec. 16, 2024, at her residence in Dixfield.
Phyllis was born in Chelsea, Mass. on July 14, 1930, and was a daughter of Nils and Viola (Craft) Andersson. She graduated with a Batchelor’s Degree in Accounting in 1970 and owned and operated Brewster Bookkeeping on Cape Cod and QT Bookkeeping in Dixfield. She also taught newly graduated accountants in Massachusets and Maine how to do specific forms of accounting and taxation. In 1996 she attended a conference at the white house hosted by President Bill Clinton discussing regarding women’s voices are on issues that affect their health, safety, and livelihood.
Phyllis was a member of the Massachusetts Assoc. of Accounting, member and Past President of Cape Cod Business Women’s Professional Organization, member of the Maine Assoc. of Professional Accountants where she served as Treasurer, she was Past President of Maine Assoc. of Women’s Organization, she served as treasurer for Med Care Ambulance, Treasurer for the town of Byron and she was also a member of the St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Rumford.
She and her husband Ellis Quinn traveled across the states visiting National Parks, Germany, Switzerland and France, and enjoyed camping around Maine, and finally settling at Littlefield Beaches in Woodstock, Maine.
She married Ellis Quinn in 1982 and then Rev. Robert H Plummer in 2005. She is survived by her daughters, Arlette Andersson and husband Robert Robitaille of Lisbon Falls, Maine and Diana Hogan of Harwich, Mass.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, at the St Barnabas Episcopal Church, 71 Rumford Ave, Rumford, Maine. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St Rumford, Maine.
