SALEM — On Saturday, Dec. 14, during the craft fair at Mt. Abram Regional High School, students could be seen raising money for different causes.
Some students were selling baked goods and lunch items to raise money for the senior class.

Ed Tech Rhonda Coffren was selling school merchandise beside her own knitted crafts. Sweatshirts, travel mugs, and hats with the Mt. Abram logo and text reading “Fear the mountain!” or “Mt. Abram Roadrunners” could be seen for sale. Coffren said that she oversees student employees of the school store and that they help make the merchandise. All funds received from the school merch sales went directly to the school.

Students could also be seen selling their art to raise funds for the New York City trip happening in 2025. The trip was proposed at the September MSAD 58 board of directors meeting by Art Teacher Adam Masterman and the grant was approved in October.
Three of the 10 selected students were selling their art at the craft fair. There was a selection of paintings and pottery for sale. The funds will go to the costs of the trip like food and transportation. The trip is set for March 9-14, 2025. The students said that they were excited to see real artists’ studios and visit art colleges.
Other community vendors sold knit and crochet work, jewelry, pottery, and more.
