Linda J. Knowles
DIXFIELD – Linda J. Knowles, 84, of Dixfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at Orchard Park in Farmington. She was born on Nov. 9, 1940, in Rumford, the daughter of the late Floyd and Ethel (Welch) Child.
Linda was a proud graduate of Stephen’s High School in Rumford. It was in Dixfield, where she met the love of her life, Richard Knowles. The couple married on July 25, 1959, at the West Peru Baptist Church, beginning a life together filled with love and devotion. Linda cherished her role as a homemaker and was dedicated to raising their two sons, Robert and David.
Linda was a loving and proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Robert Knowles and his wife Kathy of Dixfield, and David Knowles and his wife Carla of Farmington. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Brian Knowles, Nathan Knowles, Curtis Knowles, and Emily Bailey; as well as five great-grandchildren who brought her much joy.
She was predeceased by her husband Richard, her sister Carol Cayer and her brother, John Child.
A graveside service will be held in the spring at Riverside Cemetery in Dixfield, where Linda will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, Richard.
