Barbara (Clifford) Dutcher

TIVERTON, R.I. – Barbara (Clifford) Dutcher, 71, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 8, 2024, in Tiverton, R.I., after a long illness.

She was born in Lewiston on Feb, 15, 1953, the daughter of John D. Clifford, III and Athena Kesaris Clifford. Barbara attended local schools before graduating from Wellesley College in Massachusetts in the class of 1975. She earned a postgraduate degree in paralegal studies and dedicated her professional life to working for various law firms and insurance companies in Portland.

Beyond her career, she was deeply committed to her family and community and spent many years volunteering at the Springvale Public Library in Springvale, where she lived with her family, and her efforts were greatly appreciated.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Tom; her son, Seth, daughter-in-law, Tori Leblanc; and two cherished grandchildren, Addison and Barrett. She also leaves behind three siblings, John D. Clifford, IV (Elizabeth), Kate C. Larson (Spencer), and Dory Hoy (Skip); as well as numerous cousins; nieces and nephews.

Barbara will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May her memory bring comfort to those she touched throughout her life.
