Constance Elsie Petterson Fitch

HANOVER – Constance Elsie Petterson Fitch died peacefully at home on Jan. 6, 2025. She was born Sept. 25, 1933, in Holden, Mass., to Iver and Lillian Wagner Petterson.

She worked for the Ayer School Department for 33 years, working her way up from receptionist, to secretary to the Superintendent. She and her husband Charles owned and operated the H.L. Farmer Funeral Home in Ayer for 25 years. Connie was very artistic and over the years spent many happy hours sewing, knitting, painting, making baskets and hand quilting beautiful gifts for her family.

She married Charles S. Fitch in 1957 and during their 52 years of marriage they enjoyed traveling, including a motorcycle trip across the United States, several trips to Bermuda and many adventures in their Model T and Model A automobiles.

Connie will be missed terribly by her loving family: her three daughters, Heidi Ferguson (Harold) of Hanover, Connie MacKinnon of Ayer, Mass., Audrey Hanna (Robert) of Ashby, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Elisabeth Anderson (Lucus) Daniel Ferguson (Denae) Angela, Andrew and Amanda MacKinnon, Allison, Robert (Sky) and Matthew Hanna; great grandson Rowan Hanna; brother, Robert Peterson, and a sister, Audrey Howard.
