AUBURN — A Sabattus man is facing two felony assault charges stemming from a brawl in October that sent two men to the hospital.

Walter M. Rines, 36, was indicted Tuesday by an Androscoggin County grand jury on two counts of aggravated assault. Each crime is punishable by up to 10 years in prison.
He also faces two misdemeanors related to the case: assault and criminal threatening.
Police said both victims were taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston for treatment for head injuries after the Oct. 10 brawl on Bradstreet Drive in Wales.
One of the victims, who suffered extensive injuries, was taken from Lewiston to Maine Medical Center in Portland for further treatment.
Police arrested Rines at his Meadow Lane home in Sabattus the next day.
A spokeswoman for Androscoggin County Jail said Tuesday that Rines is being held in lieu of $50,000 cash bail.
