Joseph “Joe” Arthur Perry
GREENE – Joseph “Joe” Arthur Perry passed away Sunday, Dec. 22, 2024, at the age of 94.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who taught us the value of hard work, family, and kindness. From owning Perry’s Tropical Fish, to working for Pyrofax Gas, Suburban Propane, Murray Oil, and despite retiring, returning to the workforce at the age of 80, Joe was not one to sit still too long.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors: hunting, fishing, maintaining flower beds, tending the garden, and making memories at the camp he and his wife built on Brettuns Pond.
We will always remember Joe on his mower, circling the yard with a steady hand and a look of contentment, taking pride in every inch of land he cared for. Whether it was a job well done or just a way to enjoy a sunny afternoon, it was a simple act that made us smile and reminded us of his quiet strength.
Joe was graciously generous with others, setting aside vegetables and blueberries from the garden to share with neighbors and coworkers, building an expansive swing set for his grandchildren, and turning the vision of a coveted sunporch, which quickly became the centerpiece of the home, into a reality for his wife. The sun porch will forever hold the echoes of the stories he told, each tale accompanied by his hearty laugh as he relived the moments with us.
Joe left an indelible mark on our lives and will be forever loved and missed by those who survive him, son, David Perry and partner Lorraine Hughes, daughter, Tammy and husband Rick Kramarz; grandchildren Veronica Sanouri, Matthew Perry, Mariah Schierer, Kelsey and Meagan Kramarz, Tiffany, Heather, Chad, Chelsea and Lucas Perry; brothers Roland, Meddy and wife Sue Perry, sisters Josephine Biron, Clara Glendening; 13 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews; and in-laws.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Loretta, with whom he shared 69 wonderful years of marriage; sister, Theresa Moody, brother, Albert Perry; and son, Robert “Bob” Perry.
The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Mary Ellen Davis, ANP, for her exceptional care and compassion, as well as extend a special thank you to the dedicated and caring staff at Greene Village Pharmacy and Central Maine Heart Associates.
