
Robert P. Hughes
LEWISTON – Robert P. Hughes, born on Dec. 9, 1939, in Lewiston, passed away peacefully on Dec. 31, 2024, at the Marshwood Center in Lewiston after a short illness. He was 85 years old.
Robert was born and raised on Sand Hill Road as the second oldest of seven brothers. He enjoyed a full life in the Lewiston community.
Robert was predeceased by his parents, Rosario and Helena Hughes; as well as his brothers Fern, Richard, and Donald Hughes.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 61 and a half years, Mary J. Hughes; his daughter, Debbie Pomerleau and her husband Mike; two cherished granddaughters, Stephanie Cutrer and Hannah Brissette; and two beloved great-grandchildren, Camden and Isla Cutrer. Robert is also survived by three brothers, Henry, Arthur, and Roger Hughes.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses of the Carter Unit at Marshwood Center and the staff of Beacon Hospice for their compassionate care during Robert’s final days.
In honor of Robert’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held. His final resting place will be at Gracelawn Memorial Park, Auburn.
