RUMFORD – Gloria J. Berry, 66, died Saturday Jan. 4, 2025 at her residence in Rumford surrounded by her family.

Gloria was born in Rumford on June 8, 1958, a daughter of John P. “Jack” and Louise (McCray) Zollo. She was a graduate of Rumford High School class of 1976 and the University of Maine at Farmington in 1980 with a degree in Rehabilitation and Psychology.

Gloria worked as a Special Education Technician at Rumford Elementary School for 23 years. She was also a volunteer for REACH for many years. She enjoyed spending summers at Worthley Pond with her family and was an avid reader and coffee enthusiast.

Gloria was married in Rumford on Aug. 23, 1980 to Michael Berry, who survives of Rumford. Other survivors include her mother, Louise; daughters Meagan Berry of Dixfield, Sarah Berry and husband Steven Fulmer of Lisbon Falls, Allison Berry of Rumford, and Harper Berry of Rumford, a son, Jason Berry and wife Claire of Portland; a sister, Diane Zollo of Thomaston, and two brothers, Scott Zollo of Camden, and Timothy Zollo of Charleston, S.C.

Our family would like to thank the staff of Rumford Hospital that spent countless hours taking care of our beloved Gloria and spoiling Harper to the fullest. We also want to thank the Andwell team for providing her with the most excellent care at home during her final days.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday January 17, at the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gloria’s name to the Dempsey Center in Lewiston, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
