NORWAY — Alan Day Community Garden, Fare Share Food Coop, Lights Out Gallery, Norway Brewing Company, and Western Foothills Land Trust are hosting the second annual Norway Community Dinner and Dance, set for 4-8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, at the Norway Grange, 15 Whitman St.
This gathering is a tribute to the late Mellie Dunham, a native Norway fiddle player and snowshoe maker. The dinner and dance takes place on the eve of the 15th annual Norway Maine Snowshoe Festival, kicking off a weekend celebration of Norway’s history of snowshoe manufacturing and music, according to a news release from Kelli Shedd of Western Foothills Land Trust.
The evening begins with a community supper, offering two seatings at 4 and 6 p.m. Local fare showcases the harmony of local food purveyors and the culinary expertise of community partners. As the second seating begins, those interested can move upstairs for a Contra Dance set for 6-8 p.m. The event will showcase the calling of Bill Olsen and Pamela Weeks.
Tickets are limited to 150 for both dinner seatings.
Dinner tickets cost $15 for adults, $5 for youth aged 12-17, dance tickets cost $15/$5 and combo tickets cost $25/$10, tickets for children 12 and younger are free.
