Therese G. Maillet

LEWISTON – Therese G. Maillet, 91, of Lewiston, died peacefully at her home.

She was born in Lewiston Oct. 4, 1933, the daughter of William and Alice Maillet. She graduated from St. Dominic Regional High School in 1952 and the former Bliss Business College in 1954.

She worked at the Maine Dept. of Human Services for 34 years as a clerk typist, retiring in 1988.

Therese was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul’s Parish, Sts. Peter and Paul Society, MSEA Androscoggin Valley Retirees, Maine Association of Retirees, Lewiston Senior Citizens, Covenant 50, and Horizon 55.

Therese enjoyed playing the piano, reading, crocheting, going out to eat, helping and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted daughter, aunt, cousin, and friend.

Survivors include nieces and nephews June Kinder, Joyce (Dale) Dorando, Jane Smith and Linda (Ted) Pabon of California, Michael (Kathy) Maillet of Connecticut, Arlene (David) Townson of New Hampshire, Nancy (Nelson) Hwang of Connecticut; great-nieces and nephews Greg, Jeremy, Christine, Leanne, Ed, Lindsey, Benjamin, Sarah, Olivia, Matthew; cousins Linda Myles, Christine Swift, Helen Fontaine. She also leaves behind many other special cousins and friends. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed.

Therese was predeceased by her brothers Lionel and Laurier, sisters-in-law Theresa and Yvette; nephew Daniel Maillet; great-nephew, Terry Dorando; and several cousins.

Visitation for Therese will be held on Friday, Jan. 24 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at The Fortin and Pinette Group Funeral Home in Lewiston. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at the Basilica of Sts. Peter and Paul at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, with committal prayers to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery.
