Nancy Jacobs

BUCKFIELD – Nancy Jacobs, 84, of Buckfield, passed away peacefully after a brief battle with cancer. She was born in Turner on Feb. 12, 1940, on the family farm. The daughter of Rudy Meader, she attended school in Turner, and graduated from Leavitt Institute. She traveled with her husband who proudly served in the Air Force for 21 years, working various jobs. Upon returning to Maine, she worked at Maine Apple Growers and Tilton’s Market. Both of these jobs allowed her to dedicate her life to what she loved and cherished the most, her family.

She was a life-long member at Mountain View Chapter #197, OES, Buckfield, and a dual member of Mount Zircon #142. She was a beloved member who served Star as a past matron, district deputy, Grand Electa, and as a Grand Representative several times. She loved her family and was very proud of their accomplishments. Through her fraternal organization, Nancy enjoyed her close bonds with her Star friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Eastman and her husband Jason, and her son, Eric Jacobs and his wife, Tonja; Grandchildren Cole Eastman and wife Sara, Jared Eastman and wife Liz, Seneca Lowell and husband, Travis, and Siana Jacobs and fiance Cole Merrill; Great-grandchildren John, Nora, and great-grandson on-the-way, Lane; her siblings, Stanley Sampson, David Meader, Diane Gammon; sister-in-law Evelyn; several nieces and nephews; and her much loved dog, Timber.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Llewellyn, whom she missed dearly; mother, Ruby Meader; and brother, James Sampson.

Family and friends may attend visitation Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m., at Chandler Funeral Home at 45 Main Street in South Paris. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m., at the Buckfield Community Church.
