Jeanne (Ginn) Hutchinson

AUBURN – Jeanne Ginn Hutchinson, 98, of Auburn, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025.

She was the daughter of Dale and Ethel (Ginn) McDonald. Jeanne was educated in local schools, graduating from Edward Little High School in 1944 and Bliss College in 1946.

She then spent two years in Boston, Mass. working as an administrative assistant. After moving back to Auburn, she met and married the love of her life, Glenn (Mike) Hutchinson in 1951. They raised three sons together, Michael, Peter and Robert. When her sons were grown, she worked in the Auburn School Department Business Office for 16 years, retiring in 1986.

Jeanne and Mike had a wonderful retirement, traveling and wintering in Florida with a group of golfing friends for 11 years. They had been happily married for 50 years when he passed in 2001.

She enjoyed being independent all her life, playing golf, cards, doing puzzles and traveling with her friends.

She is survived by her sons Michael, Peter and Robert, her daughter-in-law, Anne; seven special grandchildren, Beth, Isaac, Abby, Lauren, Grace, Emma and James. Jeanne is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband, Mike; her parents; and her brother, Don.

A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday Jan. 29 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at The Fortin and Pinette Group, 217 Turner St., Auburn.
