Chris A. Crockett
FARMINGTON – With deep sorrow we announce that Chris A. Crockett passed away unexpectedly at his home in Farmington on Jan. 20, 2025 at the age of 64.
Chris was born on June 20, 1960 in Farmington, the son of David A. Crockett Sr. and Iris Girardin (Crockett) Grant.
Chris attended the Wilton/MSAD 9 schools through grade 10 then decided to go to work and explore the world, which he did through work in construction and as a traveling welder.
Chris married Donna Donald on July 12, 2003 in New Sharon. They had two beautiful daughters, Carrianne and Carinna Crockett of whom he was so proud. Although eventually divorced, Chris and Donna remained connected as family.
Chris was an affectionate, big hearted and hardworking man who could play the guitar, loved to be outdoors, to read and watch movies. Chris was a man of many skills and talents. Along with welding, Chris was a rockstar carpenter having built several houses, he also did electrical wiring, plumbing, auto mechanic work, could draw, fabricate, build and fix about anything. Family and friends often called upon him for help with all of those things which gave him purpose and joy being able to do so. Chris was the type of person to give the shirt off his back asking nothing in return and he could never say no. If you needed help, Chris was the one to call.
Chris loved animals and very much missed his beloved dogs Ishka and Zapper, among others.
Years ago, Chris loved to fish and hunt. With many trips among family and friends the River Run in 1991 with John Donald Sr, Larry Donald, Steven Richards and Bruce Dyke was one of his favorites.
Chris was predeceased by his grandparents Arlene Jordon Girardin and Hector Girardin of Dixfield, grandmother, Dorothy Haines of Wilton; mother, Iris Girardin (Crockett) Grant of Manchester, N.H., father, David A. Crockett Sr. of Benton; and brother, David A. Crockett Jr. of Wilton.
Chris is survived by his children, Carrianne Crockett of New Sharon, Carinna Crockett of Jackman; former wife, Donna Crockett of New Sharon; sister, Susan Deruiter of Waldoboro, sister, Ethel Rackliff and her husband Steve of Waldoboro; stepfather, Earle Grant of Augusta; nephew, Eugene Tardif and his wife Linda of Jay, niece, Shelli Tardif of Palmyra; stepmom, Marie Rollins of Benton; great-nieces Jamielyn Tardif of Jay, Jazmyn Tardif of Farmington, Kaitlyn Tardif of Stannard, Vt. and great-nephew, Brandon Tardif of Stannard, Vt.
A celebration of life for Chris will be held this summer with details to be determined.
