LEWISTON – Micalena K. (Cielinski) Farnum, 102, of Lewiston, passed away on Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, with her family at her side.
Micalena was a caring, loving mother with great empathy for others in difficulty.

She worked in The Bates Woolen Mill for several years and later was a welder at Bath Ironworks during WWII. She was married to her late husband, George S. Farnum, in 1944. Her husband’s job with New England Telephone took her and her family all over Maine with extended stays in Mexico and Presque Isle.
For many years Micalena was a cribbage master, able to tell you how many points you had in your hand, immediately upon looking at your cards. She was a regular at the Lewiston and Lisbon Falls senior cribbage leagues.
Micalena was predeceased by her sisters Geneva Wilkinson and Jenny Janosco and her brother, Stanley Cielinski.
She is survived by her sons Scott Farnum and his wife Catherine and David Farnum and his wife Cathie; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; as well as her brothers Michael Cielinski and Robert Cielinski.
Visitation will be held on Sunday Feb. 2, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Fortin and Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway, Lewiston. Online condolences and memories of Micalena can be shared at fortinpinettegrouplewiston.com
