Robert E. Jacques

LEWISTON — Robert “Bob” E. Jacques, 76, of Lewiston died Sunday Feb. 2, 2025, at the Marshwood Center with his loving family by his side following a stroke he had last May. He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 30, 1948, a son of the late Joseph and Cecile (Dubois) Jacques. He attended Lewiston schools and was a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, class of 1966.

Bob dedicated his life to protecting the Lewiston streets as a police officer from March 2, 1970 to his retirement on Feb. 8, 1994. After his retirement, he worked at Rowe Ford and Autopart International.

He is survived by his children; Robert A. Jacques of Union, Joseph Jacques and his wife Delphine of Buxton, Kasey Gallant of Lewiston, Charles St. Pierre and his fiancee Thuan Ha of Pittsfield and Julie (St. Pierre) Rioux and her husband Mike of Minot. He also leaves behind his six grandchildren; Aidan and Willow Jacques, Kaleb Gallant, Olivia, Eliot and Ian Rioux. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Rachel Jacques along with his brothers; Brother Richard Jacques, O.P. and Daniel Jacques.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the medical teams as well as the nurses and staff of the Marshwood Center for the devoted care and compassion they showed Bob. He will be dearly missed.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday Feb. 10, 2025, at 11a.m., at the Basilica of St. Peter & Paul (lower chapel) on Ash St. in Lewiston followed by committal prayers in the large mausoleum of St. Peter’s Cemetery also in Lewiston.
