New England School of Metalwork instructor Quinn Gerrish grinds a metal plate Wednesday afternoon in preparation for a weld at the Auburn school. Quinn learned how to weld at Mt. Blue Technical Center in Farmington in 1994-95, and after a career as a welder, he has been instructing for the past five years.
