Doris E. (Kennie) Clemens

CARTHAGE – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Doris E. (Kennie) Clemens, 88, of Carthage, on Feb. 10, 2025, surrounded by family.

Doris was born June 1, 1936, in Portland, a daughter of James and Mabel Kennie. She is one of 14 children and attended Portland schools.

In 1955, she married Tom Clemens, of Weld, and went on to have three children. Doris retired from Shaw’s Supermarket as a baker in 1990 and moved “up to camp” with her husband, Tom.

Prior to her illness you would often find Doris walking on the westside with her bestie, Wendy Davis, doing her best to keep up. She loved her two-plus mile walks every day, sometimes twice. She enjoyed cooking and the family get togethers, as well as fishing and hunting. In 2001 she was awarded a State of Maine plaque for shooting the biggest buck, 10 point – 235 pounds. You go Mom!

She is survived by her three children, Susie, Buddy and Cheryl; grandchildren Cassie Marceau, Michael Brown Jr., and Jaime Brown; as well as several great-grandchildren; brothers and two sisters.

Private burial will be held this summer at Robertson Cemetery, in Weld.

Memories may be shared in her book of Memories at http://www.wilesrc.com. Wiles Remembrance Center of Farmington is honored to be providing cremation care.

In memory of Doris and Tom Clemens, memorial contributions can be made in their memory to the
