Paul Edward Bartels

DIXFIELD – Paul Edward Bartels, 80, passed away on Friday, Feb. 7, 2025. He led a fulfilling life, enjoying outdoor activities such as fishing.

Born on Feb. 17, 1945, in Englewood, N.J., to Hazel and John Bartels, he graduated from Northern Valley Regional High School and Computer Technology School in New Jersey.

Paul is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Anne Tetro, his high school sweetheart. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law, Rachael Dorais of Biddeford; his sister, Joan; nieces and a nephew of Mississippi.

He was preceded in death by his older brother, Jack, of New York City, N.Y.; and his two sons, Bryan and Kevin.

Paul and Anne spent much of their lives vacationing in Mid-coast, Maine, where they purchased and operated a bed and breakfast in Belfast for 25 years. Later in life, Paul found joy in simple pleasures such as wood craftsmanship.

At Paul’s request, a funeral is not being planned.
