DEAR SUN SPOTS: I need someone who will come to my home this spring to clean my windows and ceiling fans. I don’t trust myself on a ladder anymore. — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: I would like to update the Rolodex with the names of local housecleaning contractors and companies, especially those who provide this extended type of deep-cleaning service.

I have PJM Cleaning & Home Improvement (https://pjmcleaningme.com/ , 209-4458; and The Cleaning Authority (https://www.thecleaningauthority.com/greater-portland/, 518-7759.

Readers, please send your tips and recommendations as soon as possible so I can plump up the Rolodex and spread the word.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: To the person who has lots of empty prescription bottles to donate, the Greater Androscoggin Humane Society will take them. — Denise

ANSWER: That’s a great suggestion. To check in with them about when to drop these off, call 783-2311. The organization is at 55 Strawberry Ave. in Lewiston.

Besides monetary donations, GAHS has a comprehensive list of needs here: https://gahumane.org/give/wish-list/. There are also links to wish lists through Amazon, Target, Chewy and Walmart.

Urgent needs include bleach, dry and wet cat food, cat litter, soft dog treats, and paper towels.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I hope you and your faithful Sun Spotters can help. Fifteen pounds have crept back on me. Being a lifelong Weight Watchers member, I Googled and found the address of WW meetings on Center Street in Auburn. I happily headed over there to find that it was nonexistent. I then called the 1-800 number only to find that the WW chapter nearest to Lewiston is in Portland.

I’m truly bummed, as in my experience the Weight Watchers Point system and most of all, the camaraderie of like-minded folks with a common cause was most helpful. Group members learned from each other and applauded and encouraged one another.

Are there any other weight loss support groups in the Lewiston-Auburn area? Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks Sun Spots, for being our go-to problem solver. — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: WW International (formerly Weight Watchers) has closed many of its locations and has gone to virtual meetings. I know that it is so disappointing to hear, especially because the program worked so well for you in the past.
