I applaud Rep. Laurel Libby’s posting of an image of a biological male athlete who won first place in the girls’ pole-vaulting competition.

I have nothing against transgender people, but allowing biological males to compete in female sports is not only wrong but discriminatory against girl athletes.

Rep. Jared Golden has chimed in, saying, “I also believe the state got this policy wrong; In public schools in Maine, biological boys shouldn’t compete in sports against biological girls. While we in Congress wrestle over the role of the federal government versus the states in education, state political and education leaders have the authority to resolve this issue, and they should.”

Sen. Susan Collins shared similar views with Golden, saying “Allowing biological males who identify as transgender to compete in women’s sports has threatened to undermine the core purposes behind Title IX. This is not a political issue; this is a matter of biology.”

In fact, in a recent New York Times poll, about 80% of respondents agree with this as well.

Apparently, Gov. Janet Mills and the Maine Principals Association feel otherwise. Rather than follow thousands of years of scientific proof, our leaders become cowards and cave in to the “bullying” tactics of the minority mob.

President Biden’s administration threatened to pull school lunch funds from state and local areas that didn’t comply with its revamped Title IX regulations.

Editor’s note: The Maine Principals Association adopted a transgender participation policy in 2013, which remained in effect until 2021 when the Maine Human Rights Act was amended to include gender identity as a protected class against discrimination.
