Rena Leonie Carpentier

AUBURN – Rena Leonie Carpentier, 94, of Auburn, passed away on Monday, Feb. 24, 2025, at Clover Manor in Auburn.

Rena was born on July 22, 1930, a daughter to Omar and Rosa (Fortin) Larue. She was the second child of a family that grew with seven brothers and six sisters.

Rena was married to Eugene Carpentier Jr. on Feb. 16, 1952. They raised their family on Seventh Street in New Auburn and resided there for 60 years. In 2002, they moved to Begin Estates Mobile Home Park in Sabattus. The two were happily married until his passing on March 18, 2023.

She loved spending time with her family and hosted gatherings which included grandchildren and eventually great grandchildren. Some of her favorite hobbies included reading, knitting, sewing and embroidery.

Rena was predeceased by her daughter Joline, who passed on April 14, 1971, her beloved husband Eugene, her brothers, Norman and Conrad, as well as a sister Irene.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis, Ronald, George, Eugene III and their wives, as well as six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and 36 nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Rena will be held Monday, March 3, 2025 from 10-11 a.m., at The Fortin & Pinette Group, 305 Alfred A Plourde Parkway, Lewiston, Maine 04240. A Liturgy of the Word will take place at 11 a.m., with committal prayers to follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery, 217 Switzerland Road, Lewiston, ME 04240.
