Nancy Carter
AUBURN – Nancy (Condon) Carter, 81, of Auburn, passed peacefully at home on Saturday, March 1, 2025. She was the wife of Ralph A. Carter.
Nancy was born in Portland on May 26, 1943, a daughter of the late Osborne W. and Esther (Brown) Condon of Durham. Nancy graduated from Lisbon High School and married the love of her life, Ralph. They enjoyed 62 years together while raising five children.
She had a variety of jobs in her lifetime, including owning and running “Nancy’s Sweet Shop” and becoming a sales executive for Christmas Around the World. With this last company she and Ralph were able to travel to multiple countries worldwide.
She had a great sense of humor and loved shopping, cooking, going to the casino, playing cribbage and cards, and especially spending time with her family.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her children Ralph T. (Teresa) Carter of Austin, Texas, Tammy (Todd) Worcester of Winthrop, Ryan (Cindy) Carter of Lisbon Falls, Mark (Michelle) Carter of Pownal, Richard Carter of Barrington, N.H.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Esther Mae Routhier, Carl and Freeman Condon and Randall Miller. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her as she had an unmatched spirit and zest for life.
A Celebration of Life will be held on April 5, 2025, at the Durham Amvets Hall, 1049 Royalsborough Road, Durham from 1 – 4 p.m.
