SOUTH WOODSTOCK – Patricia Thurlow, 92, of South Woodstock passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Maine Veterans Home in South Paris.
She was born in West Paris on March 17, 1932, the daughter of Hazel (Proctor) and Arthur Baker. She earned her GED from Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. She married Leslie Thurlow on Jan. 6, 1949, and they enjoyed 62 years together.
She started her employment at Wesso Orchard, then cooked at Chapel Valley Nursing Home, and worked at Ledgeview Nursing Home. After retiring from Ledgeview, she worked part-time at Hungry Hollow.
Patty was a member of the Universalist Church of West Paris, Willing Workers, and a trustee of the Whitman Memorial Library in Woodstock. In her spare time, she was an avid gardener and enjoyed ceramics, reading, and embroidery.
She is survived by daughter, Leslye and her husband Billy Hewlett, her son, Mark Thurlow, daughter, Lisa Thurlow, and daughter-in-law Ellie Newell; grandson, Neil and wife Liza Thurlow, granddaughter, Kara and husband Ryan Kimball, granddaughter, Heather Hewlett, grandson, Jonah Thurlow; great-granddaughters Zariah Thurlow and Elsie Kimball; siblings Larry, Leon, and Christine; and sister-in-law, Sandra; and many nieces and nephews.
Patty was predeceased by her husband, Les; sons Bruce and Stuart; parents Arthur and Hazel and stepmother, Mina; siblings James and Richard Baker, Marjorie Mailloux, Polly Croteau, and Jeanie Pierce.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at Wayside Cemetery, West Paris.
