TUCSON, Ariz. – M. Patricia Cook, 82, of Norway, Maine, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at her residence in Tucson, Ariz. Pat will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, kind heart, and witty sense of humor.

Born in Rye, N.Y. to parents William and Celeste Halahan, Pat developed an affinity for lake life when her family would spend summers at Bantam Lake in Connecticut. Pat followed in her mother’s footsteps by pursuing a career in nursing. She attended SUNY Plattsburgh for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and later earned her master’s and doctorate in Education from Northeastern University, followed by a master’s in Business Administration from Boston University.

After raising her daughters in the Boston area, Pat married the love of her life, Bruce, in 1991. The couple moved to Norway in 1999 where they lived some of their best years on the lake enjoying the outdoors and boating.

She continued her career there as senior vice president of clinical services at MaineHealth Stephens Hospital. Pat was also a member of the Oxford Hills Rotary Club and served as president in 2019. In 2022, Pat moved to Tucson, Ariz. to be closer to her daughters.

Pat is survived by her daughters Meaghan Sheehan of Tucson, Ariz., Kiera Skinner (Matt) of Telluride, Colo., her stepdaughters Debbie McDonnell (Michael) of Northborough, Mass., Diane Vedder (Jon) of Reading, Mass.; her sister, Carol Burnell of Dublin, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Amari and Dylan Stepanek, Kyle and Camille Skinner, Nicole McDonnell, Jon V. and Raymond Vedder.

She was predeceased by husband, Bruce Cook; her parents; and her sister, Frances Boname.

The family will honor Pat this summer with a celebration on the lake in Norway, where they will toast to her with a sunset boat ride, share memories, and look for her silhouette as one of the prettiest skiers on the water.
